Behind the Scenes: New Episodes and Big Changes(update)

Published on: 11th August, 2025

I’m here to give you the lowdown on what’s happening with the podcast. Right now, I’m a bit behind on the newest episode thanks to working a ton of overtime and some tech issues with my old hosting platform. I’ve made the switch to Captivate, which is way better for indie podcasters like me, even if it doesn’t have its own listening platform like Podbean. I'm working on finishing up the current episode and planning to wrap up season one soon so I can dive into season two with a solid backlog. This way, I can drop more episodes each month and bring you even more stories, plus I’m looking to do interviews and hit the road to gather some cool insights for future episodes.

An update on the podcast is long overdue, and I'm ready to spill the tea on what’s been happening. Lately, I've been juggling a ton of work, which has made it tricky to keep up with the latest episode. Overtime is no joke, and it’s taken a toll on my podcasting schedule. Plus, I hit a few snags with my old hosting platform, which was frustrating. Logging in felt like trying to crack a safe, and that just added to the delay. So, I decided it was time for a change and switched from Podbean to Captivate. The switch was kinda bittersweet. Captivate doesn’t have its own listening platform like Podbean, which is a bummer, but it offers a treasure trove of features designed for indie podcasters like yours truly. Whether it’s booking guests or doing some episode planning, Captivate has got my back. I’m excited about the promo and marketing tools, too, because I really want to grow this podcast and reach more folks.

Looking ahead, I’m wrapping up the current episode and gearing up to crank out a few more. The goal is to finish up Season One strong and then dive headfirst into Season Two. I’m all about creating a backlog of episodes so I can stay ahead of the game and avoid the stress of falling behind. With this approach, I can focus on crafting better quality episodes, dive deep into the stories I want to tell, and if I play my cards right, I might even be able to drop multiple episodes each month. That would mean way more content for you, and I’m all about giving my listeners more stories to enjoy.

Plus, I’m planning to spice things up with interviews and guest appearances. I want to get out there, visit some of the locations I’ll be discussing, and gather firsthand insights. It’s all about enriching the content and providing you with the best experience possible. If you’re vibing with the podcast, be sure to follow me on social media. You can catch me on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for all the latest updates and behind-the-scenes peeks. Oh, and don’t forget to hit that follow button on your listening platform, so you’re in the loop when new episodes drop. We’ve got new merch coming soon, and I appreciate each and every one of you for being part of this journey. Episode four is on the way, so stay tuned!

Speaker A:

Alright, so I'm here to give y' all an update on the podcast and let y' all know what's going on currently and future plans.

Speaker A:

Well, I'm currently behind on the newest episode.

Speaker A:

I've worked a lot of overtime recently, so it's made it difficult for me to work on the new episode.

Speaker A:

I've also had some issues with my previous hosting platform, had difficulties logging in, and some other technical difficulties.

Speaker A:

I have switched from the Podbean platform to the Captivate platform.

Speaker A:

One downside to that is that Podbean has their own listening platform and Captivate does not.

Speaker A:

However, Captivate does have a lot of great features for independent podcasters such as myself.

Speaker A:

I will be able to do things such as book guests and guests will be able to book themselves.

Speaker A:

There's a section just for episode planning which will be useful just for me.

Speaker A:

There's a whole section of features just for promotion and marketing which is important because I want the podcast to grow links to tools that help with my podcast and plus all kinds of information and videos with podcasting tips.

Speaker A:

My current plans are to finish the episode that is currently in progress and do a few more episodes and that will be season one.

Speaker A:

Once season one is finished, I will take the time to work on season two.

Speaker A:

The reason for this is is so that I can create a backlog of episodes to have prepared in case something happens and I fall behind like I currently am now.

Speaker A:

Also, I will be able to create better quality episodes with all the details on the story I'm telling and also if I get far enough ahead, I can start releasing multiple episodes monthly instead of just one every month.

Speaker A:

This will bring my listeners more stories to listen to.

Speaker A:

Also, I will have more time to prepare and do research on my stories.

Speaker A:

I will also be working on doing interviews and bringing guests on the show.

Speaker A:

I will be planning to go on trips to explore some of the places I will be talking about in future episodes so that I can gain insight and more information.
